Prayer Helps, near Meadville, MS
Henry Hezekiah Dee and Charles Eddie Moore were kidnapped by Klansmen in 1964, taken to Homochitto National Forest near Meadville, Missippi where they were beaten, then taken to the Mississippi River, where they were thrown in, alive, with Jeep motor blocks tied to them. Authorities found their bodies in a bayou while searching for the bodies of civil rights workers Chaney, Goodman and Schwerner. This site, formerly the Tasti-Freeze, was the last place Dee and Moore were seen alive.
