James Ford Seale's Home, Roxie, Mississippi
Henry Hezekiah Dee and Charles Eddie Moore were violently murdered on May 2, 1964 by James Ford Seale and Charles Marcus Edwards. Seale was never convicted of the crime and was believed dead when many civil rights era cases were being reopened in the 1990s. Charles Eddie Moore’s brother, Thomas Moore, returned to Meadville and Roxie, MS in 2005 to make a film about his brother’s murder. While there, he learned from a local that Seale was indeed not dead, but was living in a motor home on his daughter’s property in Roxie. Thomas Moore contacted the FBI, the case was reopened and Seale was convicted and sentenced in August 2007.
